The Seychelles Islands are an archipelago consisting of approximately 115 islands, most of which are not permanently inhabited.  The Islands offer a timeless beauty, tranquility and harmony for all who take the leap to explore her shores both above and below the water line.

The two main island groups are referred to as the Inner and Outer Islands.  The Inner islands are a granite group, with the largest being Mahe.  The 41 Inner islands constitute the oldest mid-oceanic granite islands in the world.  The Outer Islands are 5 groups of low-lying coral atolls and reef islets, and include the coral islands of the Aldabra Islands and the Farquhar group.

7 Days in the Seychelles

Day 1:  Beau Vallon

Leaving Mahe the principle island of the Seychelles, you head straight to Beau Vallon with it’s magnificent strand and wide range of tourism facilites, Beau Vallon also offers the perfect anchorage for your first night.  Either dinning under the the stars on board your luxury yacht, or sampling the cuisine of mouthwatering Creole dishes at one of the many Beau Vallon’s stunning restaurants.

Day 2:  North Island

Heading north towards Silhouette, Seychelles’ third largest island, the avid fisherman may like to drop a line in the water.  These waters are renowned for great fishing.   Enjoying some of the most delicious fresh fish, anchor off the beaches of North Island and take in the surrounding rugged beauty.

Day 3:  Mahe

Mahe’s west coast is home to 4 of the most stunningly beautiful beaches, namely: Grand Anse, Petit Anse, Takamaka and Intendance.  All deserve a visit allowing the guests to swim, snorkel and appreciate the warm crystal waters, soft white sand beaches and perhaps even enjoy a cocktail or two.

Day 4:  Praslin

The second largest islands in the Seychelles, Praslin is home to one of Seychelles’ UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the incredible Vallee de Mai, where the wondrous Coco-de-Mer grows high on ancient palms in a primeval valley.    Praslin has dense coconut groves and lush vegetation.

Regularly ranked among the best in the world, Praslin has some of the most amazing beaches, namely: Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette and Cote d’Or.  From here the little islands of Aride, Curieuse, The Sisters, Maryanne, Felicite and Coco’s are easily accessible.

Day 5:  La Digue

Heading back in time, in fact to where Time actually stands still, La Digue has little wonders that need discovering.  From traveling in a traditional ox cart, to discovering Anse Source d’Argent (one of the most photographed beaches in the world), or to visiting the giant tortoise pen and magnificent Creole Mansion, La Digue has a little something for everyone.

Day 6 & 7:  Bird & Denis

Cruising northwards again, and leaving behind the granite islands for the shimmering world of the Coral Isles, Bird and Denis are located north of Mahe.  Here Seabird Colonies, Nesting Turtles, Silver Surf and Golden Sands are a way of life.  These islands are situated on the Seychelles bank where the drop-off plummets to 2000 meters.  For those wanting to fish this will be one of the most memorable opportunities you will ever have.  For those that want to just enjoy, swimming, snorkeling and diving take you to places few have ever ventured.
