Grenadines

Tropical Water Fall

The Grenadine Islands, until recently, were one of the Caribbean’s best kept charter secrets.  St Vincent heads the Grenadines which consist of 32 islands and cays, offering variety of destinations and diversity.

St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Union, Petit St. Vincent, Carriacou, and Grenada are some of the more popular destinations.  Also known as the Lesser Antilles, these islands form the southernmost segment of the 400 mile-long island chain.

Protected Anchorage

Pristine beaches, coves and cays offer protected, rarely visited anchorages.  Tropical forests cover the mountains whilst clean clear blue waters line the shores.

ITINERARY
1 week St Lucia and the Grenadines

DAY 1 - Board your respective yachts in Marigot Bay, St. Lucia at 12 Noon. The chef will have catered for lunch.  Cruise down the Southwestern shore below the towering Pitons, stop for a swim, snorkel or a dive. Anchor overnight with dinner aboard

DAY 2 – An early start and an invigorating sail to the island of St. Vincent and anchor at Young Island cut for Lunch.   After which you will sail across the bay to Bequia.  Anchor off in the bay off the main town.  Explore ashore and experience the open market run by the Rastafarians.  Dinner onboard after sundowners and for those who like to party a trip ashore will be exciting.

Day 3 – Breakfast over, sail down to Mystique Island where Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Princess Margaret own homes.  Ashore is a must – Basil’s Bar – you can’t miss it.  Shops & boutiques decorated in pastels sell some great island wear.  The rest of the day and evening will be spent on the beach, swimming and snorkeling.  Watch for the green flash at sundown.

DAY 4 & 5 – After breakfast sail south to the Tobago Cays.  This is the best snorkeling in the world, either directly from the yacht or head out to the reef in the dinghy.  The boat boys will keep you entertained selling anything from T-shirts to fresh bread and live lobsters.  Perhaps tonight will be the lobster feast for dinner.  You’ll want to spend the rest of your life here. Only a couple of miles away are Palm Island and P.S.V. This is a very exclusive resort which may be a good spot to choose to dine ashore.  Your Captain will call ahead on the VHF radio.  It is up to you whether you would like to invite the crew or perhaps give them a night off.  This resort has been written up in many of the top travel magazines, so the food will be good.

DAY 6 – Most of the day spent exploring the reefs and tiny tropical beaches.  An afternoon sail down to the perfect Sandy Islands in Carriacou.  Here anything goes, this is the epitome of the perfect tropical island.  The beaching is as it comes with anything on or nothing to cover at all.  Perhaps a look ashore at the small, rustic town on this island and cocktails in the bay to south.  Here the boat boys will bring you fresh water oysters if you have the taste.  He shucks them right there for you.  Great bay for water skiing.

DAY 7 – After Lunch a good sail across to Union where you will spend the evening winding down and discussing the weeks events over yet another sumptuous meal.

DAY 8 – Your last swim and maybe a quick wind surf.  12 Noon – The Captain will make sure that you are safely docked in plenty of time for your flight out..

This is an example itinerary and your experienced captain may alter the trip to suit your parties needs and weather conditions. One thing is for sure you are about to embark on the Vacation of a lifetime.  Bon Voyage !
