Summers in New England and Maine are legendary.  Rockefellers’ and Kennedy’s would spend their summer at their palatial summer mansions. Especially in Newport many of these homes are still open to public viewing at your leisure – a great way to pass the afternoon – tea in the garden and perhaps a spot of tennis at the Tennis Hall of Fame in town.  The east coast from New York to Camden in Maine is a hive of quaint little ports, great anchorages, beautiful scenery and great people.  Steeped in American history, Martha’s  Vineyard, Block Islands and Cape Cod where and still are the romping grounds for many of the rich and famous.  Fresh lobster, clam bakes on the beach and that unmistakable New England hospitality – it doesn’t get better than that.
